Welcome to RetroTechUK

RetroTechUK is the new name and image for the National Vintage Communications Fair, (NVCF) established in 1992.

Since then, the event has evolved and outgrown its previous title!

Held every May in the Midlands, you’ll find over 150 stalls of dealers, clubs and private sellers offering vintage items, including radio, televisions, hi-fi and audio, records (LP’s, 45’s, 78’s), gramophones, telephones, communications equipment, spares, early video games, early computing, small appliances, indeed anything techie from the early 20th century right up to the millennium and beyond. And all stalls are indoors! From May 2023 we moved to Sports Connexion near Coventry.

RetroTechUK FAQ

Where is the Sports Connexion Arena?

The Arena is located in the village of Ryton-on-Dunsmore to the south east of Coventry. Road access and is straight forward from all directions following motorways and/or major trunk roads. By road, the Coventry train station is just 5 miles away and the venue is a 15 minute taxi ride from the station. The entrance to the venue is on the A445 Leamington Road near to its junction with the A423 Oxford Road on the outskirts of the village.

How do I get to the Sports Connexion Arena?

Directions are available on the Sports Connexion website here. If you are using a satnav you may find that entering just the postcode (CV8 3FL) takes you to a nearby housing estate. We recommend using a mapping app (such as Google Maps) where you can enter the venue name and will be directed to the entrance.

Will I be able to drive into the hall?

Will I be able to park my vehicle close to the hall?

The large parking area will be shared by stall holders and visitors alike and stewards will be directing stall holders to the spaces nearest to the Arena, on a first come first served basis.

Does the Sports Connexion charge visitor parking?

No, the parking is free. On driving into the venue, please keep to the large car part to the left of the driveway. The parking to the right is exclusively for the use of the gym - RetrotechUK stall holders and visitors are asked not to park in that area. Stewards will direct you to the correct area.

Will trolleys be available?

No trolleys will be provided by the venue so we ask you to bring your own. After 9.00am trolleys will not be allowed into the hall and any stock will have to be carried in.

Will I get help loading into the halls?

If you need assistance please mention this when booking your stall and we will try to have help available. Primarily this service is for our disabled exhibitors. No trolleys will be provided by the venue so we ask you to bring your own.

How much table space will I have?

Tables 2ft x 6ft or slightly larger will be provided. It is not permitted to extend table space (with paste tables etc.) or to spill stock into the walkways in front or sides. If stall holders overload tables with excessive stock to the front or sides they will be asked to return excessive stock to their vehicles, as this will contravene site fire regulations and cause delay to the event opening on time. Tables must not be moved or sub-let. Tables must be well stocked with items for sale.

Will I have to bring my own chairs?

No, a chair will be provided at each table booked.

Is there catering available on site?

A catering trailer is located immediately outside of the Arena hall and will sell hot and cold drinks and hot and cold snacks. As the food is prepared to order, there may be a delay before being served at peak times. There is an area of tables and chairs within the Arena hall for folk to relax and eat their food.

What about a cash machine?

Most stallholders will accept cash only. Please bring plenty of cash with you. There is no cash machine at the Sports Connexion. The closest cash machine is 500 yards away outside the Co-op convenience store in the village at 64 High Street, CV8 3FH. It’s about 5 minutes walk. We recommend you get cash in advance to avoid inconvenience if the local cash machine is not working or empty.
